At Hearst UK, we're looking for a talented Fashion Features Writer to join our ELLE UK team. As a key member of our editorial team, you'll be responsible for producing engaging and authoritative fashion and culture stories for all ELLE platforms.

About the Role

The Fashion Features Writer will work closely with the Fashion Features Director to produce a steady stream of high-quality features for ELLE UK. This will involve ideating, pitching, researching, and writing a range of fashion-focused and fashion-adjacent culture features for use across print and digital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Fashion Features Director to produce high-quality features for ELLE UK
  • Ideate, pitch, research, and write fashion-focused and fashion-adjacent culture features
  • Contribute exclusive content to ELLE COLLECTIVE, ELLE UK's membership initiative
  • Collaborate with other departments on features and fashion stories as needed
  • Keep abreast of new releases, developments, and trends across fashion and culture
  • Manage features invoicing and administrative tasks
  • Attend production and editorial meetings as required
  • Support with and attend reader events as required
  • Read and monitor other fashion and culture media titles across print and digital
  • Be an ambassador for ELLE UK and its values, representing the magazine at industry events

About You

  • Proven writing experience with an ability to produce clean, accurate copy
  • Strong fashion knowledge and good contacts within the industry
  • Excellent cultural awareness
  • Experience interviewing high-profile talent
  • Meticulous and hyper-organised, with good time management skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Ability to use and act upon own initiative
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects, and deal with challenges calmly and efficiently
  • Must have a strong interest in ELLE and good understanding of the ELLE readership
