About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems Submarines. As a key member of our Integrated Development Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our submarine systems and capability development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with System Engineers to influence submarine systems and capability development, ensuring that safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of the design and development process.
  • Develop and maintain safety requirements, hazard identification and analysis, and safety documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate safety risks, and to develop and implement safety management systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure that safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of the project lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure that safety requirements are met and that regulatory compliance is maintained.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
  • Proven experience in safety engineering, with a strong understanding of safety principles, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
