About the Role

Taylor Root is an international law firm seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Lawyer Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering procurement services across the firm, working closely with the Office of the General Counsel, Information Security team, business stakeholders, and senior management.

The role involves reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Agreement Oversight: Oversee a variety of commercial supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Mitigation: Work with the Office of the General Counsel and Information Security teams to conduct due diligence and mitigate risks in supplier relationships.
  • Contractual Advice: Provide clear and actionable advice on commercial and legal aspects of contracts, often to senior-level stakeholders, while identifying and addressing risks.
  • Process Enhancement: Support ongoing enhancements to the Procurement team's service delivery, innovation initiatives, and compliance efforts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory changes and update supplier agreements accordingly.
  • Training and Development: Train the Procurement team on relevant legislative updates and develop contract templates.
  • Service Delivery: Support stakeholders to improve service levels and implement smarter, more efficient procurement processes.

Requirements:

  • A qualified solicitor with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience (or equivalent in-house experience) in commercial contracts.
  • Proficient in drafting, negotiating, and advising on a range of commercial agreements.

Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a competitive salary for this role in the UK market.
