Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Clinical Trials team at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the operations management of our clinical trials service, including organizing workload and operating procedures.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Dispensing and accuracy checking prescriptions for clinical trials and compassionate use programs
  • Maintaining and producing accurate documentation required for clinical trials
  • Ensuring the smooth initiation, running, and close of clinical trials
  • Implementing and revising pharmacy clinical trials procedures
  • Providing training and supervision to student pharmacy technicians and registered technicians working in Clinical Trials Pharmacy
  • Deputizing for the clinical trials pharmacists when necessary

You will also be responsible for line managing a small number of pharmacy technicians and providing leadership and guidance to support their development.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures equivalent to degree level acquired through training and experience
  • NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services, BTEC Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification
  • GCP trained

Experience of clinical trials pharmacy, training and supervising staff, and knowledge of Word and Excel computer systems are also essential.
