Senior Director, International Patient Engagement, Northern Europe, Australia and Distributors

The Senior Director, International Patient Engagement, Northern Europe, Australia and Distributors will play a critical role in developing and executing Vertex's patient engagement strategy for the Northern Europe, Australia, and Distributors region. This includes building and maintaining relationships with patient organizations, stakeholders, and healthcare professionals to support Vertex's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement patient engagement strategies to support Vertex's product launches and pipeline development.
- Build and maintain relationships with patient organizations, stakeholders, and healthcare professionals to support Vertex's goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic input into the development and resource prioritization for Vertex's global patient engagement strategy and plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, market access, and communications, to ensure alignment and effective execution of patient engagement initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets and resources to support patient engagement initiatives.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to advance Vertex's business objectives through patient engagement.
Requirements:
- Current and relevant experience in the healthcare industry, with a focus on patient engagement, medical affairs, market access, public health policy, government relations, or related fields.
- Experience in managing patient engagement across a wide range of different geographies and therapy areas.
- Deep understanding of EFPIA and relevant country codes of practice to ensure all activities are compliant.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated outstanding strategic planning, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to navigate seamlessly in a matrixed environment, able to work in situations with levels of ambiguity with independence.
- Experience in patient advocacy, government affairs, communications, market access, or public policy.
- A high level of energy and passion toward patients, science, and public health.
- Working knowledge and appreciation of the complexities of the drug development process and regulatory requirements.

1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
