Job Title: Children Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children Support Specialist to join our team at Vetro Recruitment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people between the ages of 8-18 years old who require support with Emotional, Behavioural, Difficulties.

About the Role:
As a Children Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing individualised support to young people, promoting their independence and well-being, and ensuring their safety at all times. You will work closely with the management team, staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives to provide holistic care and support.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
  • Support the manager and team in all aspects of day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, budgets, and ensuring the quality of services meets expected care standards.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
  • Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments have been followed.

Requirements:
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker within a similar social care setting or with Young People.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent.
  • Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport the young people.
  • Knowledge of Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding.

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
