Risk Management and Compliance Role

We are seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to maintain and enhance our Health & Safety (H&S) practices. This role will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, support compliance efforts, and actively drive a culture of safety awareness across our sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Assessment & Manual Handling: Conduct and review site Manual Handling Risk Assessments to identify high-risk tasks and suggest improvements.
  • H&S Management System: Maintain and improve the H&S Management System through regular reviews, updates, and alignment with current legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Documentation & Task-Based Risk Assessments: Create and refine Work Instructions, develop new documentation, and conduct Task-Based Risk Assessments when necessary.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage and collaborate with various stakeholders, including Operations, Governance, and Global teams, to ensure alignment and effective H&S communication.
  • Incident Management: Attend to site incidents as needed, supporting the standard H&S investigation process and ensuring timely completion.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Partner with HSE to manage site-based regulatory issues effectively.
  • Visible Leadership: Regularly attend sites to demonstrate proactive and active H&S leadership.
  • Compliance Monitoring & Analysis: Track H&S compliance and provide trend analyses, guiding operational teams on prioritizing actions.
  • Support for H&S Concerns: Offer ad-hoc H&S guidance, fostering a culture of hazard awareness and ensuring robust protection for employees, contractors, the public, and company assets.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a Health & Safety role or similar
  • Qualified Manual Handling Trainer/Assessor
  • Proven experience in H&S incident and accident investigations
  • Experience working in fast-paced, team-oriented environments
  • Proficient in standard business systems (e.g., MS Office)
  • Full UK driver's license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders

Desirable Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or actively working towards)
  • Tech IOSH membership (or above)
  • Experience in operational and/or manufacturing environments
