Wind Turbine Maintenance Engineer
At EDF Renewables, we're committed to tackling the world's biggest challenge – climate change. Our team is passionate about creating a sustainable future, and we're seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Maintenance Engineer to join our Asset Operations Business Area.
We develop, build, operate, and maintain wind farms and other renewable technologies throughout their lifetime. Our portfolio consists of nearly 1,000 MW, comprising 36 wind farms, including two offshore wind farms, and one of the largest operational battery storage units in Europe.
We're dedicated to doing good things and take pride in embracing new ideas to create an innovative culture where we trust the best versions of ourselves to make good things happen.
A competitive salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, bonus scheme, and market-leading pension are just some of the benefits you'll receive as a member of our team. You'll also enjoy flexible benefits, employee discounts, and the freedom to work from home or in the office.
We're a disability confident employer and committed to championing diversity representation across gender, ethnicity, LGBT+, disability, and more. This applies to all our roles, underpinned by our Everyone's Welcome inclusion programme.
As a Wind Turbine Maintenance Engineer, your typical day will start at 8 AM, checking the status of turbines within the area. Any faults or issues will be reported by our 24/7/365 monitoring centre based in France. You'll then access the turbine issue with the correct spares, tooling, and documentation gathered, followed by setting up for success with a toolbox talk.
Your role will involve scheduling and reactive maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines, reporting daily maintenance activity, coordinating local spare parts and consumable stock, fault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assemblies, and major components.
You'll be a time-served engineer (electrical/mechanical) with a primary focus on ensuring operations and maintenance activities are undertaken to the highest levels. Ideally, you'll hold an AT/AE qualification under Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) and have significant technical expertise gained through a blend of academic (Electrical or Mechanical HNC/HND/NVQ) and 'hands-on' operational environments.
