Paediatric Nurse

The Princess Royal University Hospital's Children's Ward is a 12-bedded unit providing acute care to sick children and young people in Bromley.
As a Children's Nurse, you will be part of the King's Variety Children's hospital, offering opportunities to access a variety of resources.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients.
- Maintain good standards of care for patients at all times.
- Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Involve and support patients, relatives, carers, and friends in the care process.
- Promote well-being and involve patients and relatives in health education.

- Provide support and advice to ward/unit staff on clinical and administrative issues.
- Keep the ward/unit sister/charge nurse informed of significant changes and/or anticipated problems.
- Observe a general duty of care for the health, safety, and well-being of yourself, work colleagues, visitors, and patients within the hospital.
- Ensure the rules, policies, procedures, and standards of King's College Hospital NHS Trust Foundation, together with all relevant statutory and professional obligations, are adhered to at all times.
- Adhere to the Trust's policy on valuing equality and diversity and show due regard for each patient's cultural and religious beliefs, gender, ethnicity, age, and sexuality.
- Take responsibility for your own personal development and keep up to date with nursing and medical knowledge.
- Be aware of current research and the implications for the ward/unit specialty.
- Act as a practice supervisor and/or preceptor/mentor for junior and newly qualified staff.
- Participate in Trust and Divisional initiatives to develop nursing practice and support change.
- Paediatric Registered Nurse with Active NMC Registration.
- Acute experience within a Paediatric setting.
- Team building and working skills – able to lead a team to achieve results.
