Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pricing Expert to join our national projects team at Arcus FM. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for producing competitive and accurate pricing for new and existing business opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the bid process, focusing on pricing new opportunities and tenders for all Business Development activities.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders by building trust through clear professional communications and assured expectation management.
  • Provide leadership and management during the tender stage, as well as personal management and planning of project tendering activities assigned to you.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including directors, project owners, designers, and contractors.
  • Work closely with the Projects Bid Writer and wider operations and commercial projects team to ensure high-quality tender returns in a timely manner.
Tender Responsibilities:
  • Arrange enquiry documents for supply chains to ensure tenders are compliant, accurate, and competitive.
  • Take responsibility for accurate drawing take-offs, BoQ's, and prelims estimation.
  • Negotiate and analyze subcontractor works packages.
  • Manage tender clarifications, queries, and document control to ensure tender returns are fully compliant.
  • Analyze tender information and organize quotations from external suppliers/sub-contractors, resolving any queries that arise, including technical and commercial compliance.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in estimating or quantity surveying, with a specific understanding of bid and tender processes in projects environments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel ability.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with complex and incomplete data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills for effective written and verbal communication with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently on several tenders simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a construction projects company/division.
  • Good technical knowledge of the building fabric and M&E elements of projects.
  • Good commercial and contractual awareness (including JCT and NEC forms of contract).
  • Good understanding of CDM Regulations and the role, duties, and obligations of the principal contractor.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have previous experience in estimating or quantity surveying, with a strong understanding of bid and tender processes. They will also possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong communication abilities.
