Job Title: Band 6 Outreach Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Outreach Nurse Specialist to join our Therapeutic Apheresis Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert nursing care to patients and donors undergoing therapeutic apheresis procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Perform therapeutic apheresis and cell collection procedures in paediatrics and adults.
  2. Plan and deliver nursing care for patients and donors, providing advice and support as needed.
  3. Work within a total quality management system to maintain nursing practice standards and ensure compliance with local regulatory frameworks.
  4. Establish and maintain effective communication with stakeholders to support patient-centred care and quality and safety.
  5. Provide clinical support and supervision to less experienced staff and student nurses.
  6. Travel and spend time away from base, working irregular hours and overnight stays when required.
  7. Demonstrate experience of planning, implementing and evaluating changes in clinical practice.
  8. Work towards performance objectives and organisational targets.
  9. Support the professional development of self and others.
  10. Mentor and coach staff in the clinical environment.
  11. Understand the principles of clinical audit and research.
  12. Use information technology to support clinical practice.
Requirements:
  1. Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration (RN1 or RNA).
  2. NMC professional registration (which must be maintained in the role).
  3. Awareness of current issues in nursing.
  4. Valid driving licence, allowing you to drive in the UK.
  5. Commitment to own continued professional development (CPD).
