Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Technician

At Thames Water Utilities Limited, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Technician to join our team at the Ashford Common Water Treatment Works.

The successful candidate will work in a multi-discipline team, responsible for carrying out scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimize plant breakdown.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process.
  • Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimize plant breakdowns.
  • Providing technical advice to the wider team, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and providing training or support for technical trainees if required.
  • Utilizing technical equipment such as various pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling, and dosing equipment.

Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.

We offer a competitive salary, including standby rota payments and overtime opportunities that can increase this earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

A range of benefits includes 24 days holiday per year increasing to 28 days with the length of service (plus bank holidays), contributory pension, personal medical assessments, and access to a benefits hub offering savings and wellbeing support.
