About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Preservation Specialist to join our team at Rentokil Initial. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality preservation and restoration services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strip and replace timber floors, including splicing timber floor joists to preservation standards
  • Renew door frames, architraves, and windows sills
  • Splice roof timbers and perform specialist timber resin repairs
  • Hack-off ceiling/wall plaster, strip and replace timber wall framing and partitions, and install damp proof courses and membrane to industry standards
  • Remove and renew timber lintels, including bricking back up
  • Perform timber treatments, including insecticide/fungicide sprays and remedial repairs for dry and wet rot, which include the timber renewal element and chemical treatments
  • Carry out specialist condensation treatments, including loft insulation, painting internal/external walls in our specialist coatings, and installing thermal wall products
  • Patch plastering and structural defects repairs, such as wall tie installation and crack-stitching
Requirements
  • Preservation joinery experience
  • An apprenticeship background, City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications
  • Experience working as a Joiner, Carpenter, or a Preservation Technician
  • A full UK Manual Driving Licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points
  • A can-do attitude and ability to use your own initiative in tricky situations
  • Great communication and customer service skills with a keen, enthusiastic, and friendly approach
