About the Job

We are seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to lead our building design and analysis team in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, excellent communication skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Duties
  • Leverage your technical expertise to lead and manage structural engineering projects.
  • Provide guidance on the structural design of buildings.
  • Conduct structural analysis and calculations to ensure the safety and stability of structures.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated building solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with local and national building codes and regulations.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, reports, and specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure construction aligns with design specifications.
  • Effectively manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a recognized institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building projects.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and industry standards.
Remuneration

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
