Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage full-cycle management accounts and month-end processes with precision.
  • Oversee the management accounting function to provide timely insight into the performance of the business through the provision of high-quality and value-added management information.
  • Act as first line of review and presentation of monthly management accounts for numerous entities, including foreign subsidiaries.
  • Review and understand all deferred and accrued balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely analysis of reconciliations of balances at a customer and project level to provide clear visibility of on-hand forecast revenue and margin.
  • Ensure that all month-end tasks are completed on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insightful commentary on performance against budget and forecast.
  • Review of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Act as the key point of contact to the wider business, ensuring that the management accounting function provides relevant information to internal stakeholders in a business partnering capacity.
  • Monitor and take ownership of key performance indicators for business-wide financial and operation performance and, where applicable, provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Work alongside our senior management team to highlight potential opportunities for process improvement and automation across the business.
  • Play a key role in the year-end and external audit processes. Responding to any queries on a timely basis.
  • Provide support in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting activities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Assist in this process by providing accurate information concerning revenue, margin, and cash projections.
  • Support with ad hoc projects as required by Microlise Group senior management.
Requirements:
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA or proven track record through demonstrable experience.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a management accounting team, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to manage full-cycle management accounts and month-end processes with precision.
  • Detailed knowledge of FRS101 and IFRS accounting standards.
  • Tangible experience in managing and developing a team.
  • Experience in interpreting financial information and presenting/reporting to Senior Management.
  • Advanced user of Excel.
  • Ambitious with strong commercial acumen and proven business partnering skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Good analytical skills and capacity to draw conclusions/make service-sensitive recommendations.
  • Proven ability to develop systems, processes, and controls.
