About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group PLC, specializing in residential development. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of residential development schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Surveying department with cost management for development and contracting projects from procurement to the completion of sub-contract final accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to ensure accurate forecasting and site budget information.
  • Process invoices and applications for payments in accordance with Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract.
  • Utilize COINS software to manage site project administration, including orders, variations, valuations, etc.
  • Settle variation invoices and applications for payment in accordance with Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract.
  • Assist with the certifying of retention releases on completion of the project.
  • Prepare and agree sub-contract final accounts.
  • Maintain necessary systems to efficiently file and retrieve information.
  • Ensure self-development and follow training plan.
  • Attend departmental meetings as required.
  • Deal with queries from colleagues.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with colleagues in other regions.
Requirements
  • HNC in Quantity Surveying / Construction management or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within the Construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Excellent IT, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical ability.
  • Ability to assess and analyze information.
  • Good understanding of budget management.
  • Negotiating and networking skills.
  • Familiar with construction contracts, not limited to standard forms.
  • Able to work within a busy team and under pressure.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Accurate with an eye for detail.
Desirable Qualifications
  • HND/or Degree in Construction.
  • Housebuilding experience.
  • Different methods of construction i.e. Timber Frame, Traditional Masonry, etc.
  • COINS software experience.
