Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Rapid Response Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team and provide expert care to patients requiring urgent Occupational Therapy interventions.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Conduct rapid assessments of patients' functional abilities and barriers to independence.
  • Create customized intervention plans to address immediate needs and promote functional recovery.
  • Deliver prompt occupational therapy interventions to enhance patients' quality of life.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress.
  • Educate patients and their families on adaptive strategies and techniques.
  • Stay updated on emerging practices to ensure the highest level of care.
  • Work in collaboration with Virtual ward to ensure patients are receiving appropriate therapeutic care.
  • Respond urgently to patients requiring unplanned care as per Urgent Care Response guidance.
Person Specification
  • Bsc or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Member of RCOT (desirable).
  • Post graduate training in relevant field (desirable).
  • Extensive post graduate experience of working as an Occupational therapist.
  • Experience of working in physical setting with adults/older people in community, admission avoidance, acute or rehabilitation.
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of supervising junior staff.
  • Experience of service improvement or audits.
