About the Role
As a Workshop Technician at James Fisher and Sons plc, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and economical maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of equipment. This is a hands-on position within a friendly Workshop providing mechanical and hydraulic tooling and equipment services.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections of equipment and evaluate the level of maintenance, repair, or rebuild work required.
- Perform all servicing, maintenance, and repair work on Company or client-owned equipment as required and instructed.
- Prepare equipment in readiness for relevant test procedures.
- Ensure equipment is returned in good order and fit for purpose, minimizing repair costs through good servicing and reducing the risk of incurring downtime through equipment failure.
- Work offsite (ad hoc) on client premises, vessel, or offshore facility commissioning, operating, maintaining, and/or repairing lifting and associated equipment.
- Select suitable equipment from stock as requested.
- Spooling of umbilical and wire rope in a controlled manner as required.
- Complete all Company documentation promptly and accurately, creating a full auditable trail as required by the company management procedures and to maintain Company QHSE accreditation.
Experience and Qualifications
- Time served or appropriate engineering/mechanical qualification.
- Previous experience in mechanical hydraulics.
