Senior Electrical Engineer

As a Senior Building Engineer at National Grid, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of our assets, including Converter Stations, Cable Systems, Substations, and Operational Technology. You will collaborate with other support functions to drive a collaborative approach to running our assets.

• Monitor, maintain, and repair HV and LV systems, encompassing electrical and mechanical systems.
• Supervise NSL Technicians and Third-Party Contractors to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high standards of environmental and safety performance.
• Undertake standby and emergency call-out duties.
• Manage the delivery of specific projects to maintain and improve the performance of our assets and systems.

• Knowledge and understanding of work and/or failures on HV and LV systems.
• Foundation knowledge of key Health, Safety, and Environmental and Occupier legislation applicable within an operational environment and premises.
• Proven experience managing and overseeing contractor and in-house team performance, including safety, health, environment, and quality.
