Job Description:

The Telecoms Civil Operative will be an essential member of our Fibre upgrade team in Scotland, responsible for performing excavations, repairs, and reinstatements, as well as installing ducting, chambers, and street cabinets, and draw rope on telecoms infrastructure located within the public highway and customers' premises.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To ensure all works are completed as required within the team guidelines and processes.
  • Operate manual and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all SLG set ups meet Streetworks requirements and sites are 100% compliant.
  • Reinstate to industry standard, capturing on company supplied assets all necessary information and pictures.
  • Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws, Wacker plates, and trench compactor, holding the correct certification for the works.
  • Complete the required paperwork for daily work tasks (job sheets, risk assessments, plant sheets, van sheets).
  • Experience of risk assessment and hazard identification, with a strong focus on health and safety requirements and responsibilities.
  • Be responsible for company assets & plant assigned for the purpose of performing duties.
  • Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients.
  • Complete all project related works on time, meeting client committed dates for delivery of works.
  • Be prepared to carry out works on other work streams when required and instructed by the business.
