Job Description

Our client, a leading global logistics company, is seeking an experienced Sea Freight Import Operator to join their team in Cheshire. As a key member of the import operations team, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of imports from start to finish, including:

  • Booking new carriers and consignments on the system daily
  • Importing sea freight daily transport administration
  • Monitoring and checking arrivals, clearances, and deliveries
  • Price sourcing new suppliers for current transport lanes
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers on a daily basis
  • Price negotiations with suppliers and customers
  • Handling sales and purchase creation for each job

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and progress your career in the logistics industry. As a Sea Freight Import Operator, you will be working closely with the import operations team to ensure seamless and efficient import processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with overseas agents, customers, and hauliers to ensure timely and accurate import operations
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of import shipments, including documentation and tracking
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers to ensure optimal pricing and service
  • Collaborate with the import operations team to identify and implement process improvements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sea freight import operations or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
