About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analytical Chemist to join our team at LGC Group. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for undertaking physico-chemical testing of chemical and herbal reference materials, method validation, and method development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analysis of Samples: Conduct analysis of samples using HPLC, GC, Mid IR, UV spectroscopy, wet chemistry, and GC/LC-MS.
  • Drafting Reports and Methods: Draft analytical reports and methods, as well as safety assessments.
  • Interpreting Data: Run and interpret analytical data for validation and quality control.
  • Quality System: Adhere to and contribute to an effective quality system, ensuring work aligns with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, daily performance checks, and periodic calibration of equipment.
  • Project Leadership: Lead projects and coordinate staff to ensure key performance indicators are met.
  • General Lab Activities: Support general lab activities and delivery as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: A sound background in Chemistry at degree level, with theoretical knowledge of HPLC, GC, IR, UV spectrometry, and titration.
  • Practical Experience: Practical experience in the use of at least two of these techniques is desirable.
  • Skills: Be a well-organized and self-motivated worker with a high degree of tenacity for solving technical problems.
  • Computing Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to keep full and neat work records.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clear and organized bench.
