Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a highly skilled Lead Cardiac Physiologist/Cardiac Clinical Scientist specializing in Echocardiography to join our dedicated team.

As part of our dynamic Cardiac Investigations unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care across our hospitals.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a comprehensive range of advanced physiological tests on adult patients for accurate clinical diagnosis.
  • Provide timely and precise reports detailing test findings to ensure effective clinical decision-making.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current clinical practices and escalate significant findings to clinicians, providing expert advice when needed.
  • Champion high standards of care within the department, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver impactful assessments, training, and mentorship to staff members and students, contributing to their professional development.
  • Lead clinical audit initiatives to enhance departmental services and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement projects and embrace innovative technologies to advance our capabilities.

Your Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possess a BSc in Clinical Physiology or an equivalent qualification.
  • Hold full registration with the RCCP/HCPC.
  • Ideally, have an MSc in a relevant cardiac discipline and BSE accreditation.
  • Demonstrate at least three years of experience working in both cath lab and echocardiography settings.
  • Provide evidence of ongoing Continued Professional Development (CPD) to maintain your expertise.
  • Have experience in staff supervision and mentorship, guiding and supporting colleagues.
  • Ideally, possess previous clinical audit experience and involvement in project teams.
