About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Buyer / Purchasing Assistant to join our client's centralised procurement team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for evaluating MRP demand, raising and issuing purchase orders, and liaising with production, planning, and purchasing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate MRP demand and raise and issue purchase orders
  • Liaise between production, planning, and purchasing teams
  • Review and action engineering change notifications
  • Resolve supplier non-conformances
  • Help implement continuous improvement and efficiencies

Requirements:

  • 2 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with a Far East supply chain would be advantageous
  • Strong IT and Excel skills
  • Good communication and prioritisation skills

What We Offer:

  • Salary circa £32,000 - £35,000
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm

This is an office-based role with occasional travel to visit suppliers and other sites. The role is commutable from Portsmouth, Fareham, Havant, Hayling Island, Chichester, and surrounding areas.
