About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Arboricultural Officer to join our team at Ringway Jacobs. As a key member of our highway maintenance team, you will be responsible for managing and carrying out routine and ad-hoc inspections on highways assets, responding to enquiries and requests for service, and engaging with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Cheshire East Highways tree inspection programme and support staff in line with the Cheshire East Highways Tree Risk Management Strategy
  • Perform and accurately report tree Inspections and Service Inspections across the Cheshire East road network as set out in the Inspection Schedule
  • Receive enquiries and requests for service for a geographical area of the borough, carry out inspections and investigations as required, and determine the appropriate response or action required
  • Meet with customers on site to discuss highway maintenance or highway related matters, conduct such meetings in a courteous manner, and explain any technical issues clearly

Requirements

  • RCF Level 6 Arboriculture (e.g. BSc. RFS Professional Diploma, LANTRA, Professional /Tree Inspection)
  • QTRA registered
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
  • Excellent verbal and good written communication skills are essential
  • Good IT skills are essential, particularly MS Office and GIS systems desirable
