Health and Safety Professional

The Health and Safety Manager will report into Group Services and will offer support and advice to the operations teams around H&S legislation and all aspects of H&S. This role is office-based, however, may require site visits.
Key Responsibilities:- Review amendments to legislation and client standards to assess the relevance to the company, making appropriate recommendations.
- Ensure all company employees are aware of their responsibilities under health and safety and environmental.
- Provide advice to company employees, senior managers, managers, and staff on all aspects pertaining to health, safety, and environmental matters.
- Advice and guidance on the preparation of Health & Safety Plans, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and other health, safety, environmental documentation.
- Arrange and carry out site safety and environmental audits and safety inspections, maintain records of audits and inspections, and ensure necessary corrective measures are agreed and implemented.
- Arrange and carry out incident/accident investigations, liaise with the client or enforcement authorities as relevant, reporting findings.
- Investigate the environmental implications of the company's activities and suggest actions which may prove beneficial to the environment, the company, or others.
- Continuously seek, propose, and implement agreed H&S and environmental performance improvements.
- Prepare and produce regular KPIs and reports on the performance of the H&S and environmental management systems.
- Support on our current cultural drive to improve health, safety, and environmental standards on McGoff projects and offices.
- Provide statistical data to the director responsible for SHE to demonstrate where improvements can be made.
- Identify root cause analysis of any incidents occurring.
- Maintain regular contact with all project teams and office managers to advise on SHE matters.
- Previous Construction H&S Experience.
- A sound working knowledge of reactive and planned maintenance contracts.
- NEBOSH Construction diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of Tech IOSH or similar and equivalent membership, minimum of AIEMA or similar equivalent institute.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Ability to work clearly and accurately under pressure and tight timescales.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication, organisation, and team working skills.
- Car or car allowance.
