Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 6) - Part-Time (Afternoons)

Location: Preston, Lancashire

Contract Type: Part-Time, Term-Time Only (Afternoons)

Salary: £XX.XX per hour (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support our Year 6 students in Preston. This part-time role involves working afternoons only, providing targeted support to students with special educational needs (SEN) to help them succeed in their learning and transition to secondary school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to Year 6 students with SEN during afternoon lessons.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage positive behavior and engagement in learning.
  • Support students' emotional and social development, as well as their academic progress.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on SEN.
  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working with students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
  • Patience, understanding, and a commitment to supporting students' development.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
