Electronics Systems Engineer

Join our team at G&H (Gooch & Housego) as an Electronics Systems Engineer and contribute to the development of innovative electronic systems for Aerospace & Defence. As a key member of our Optical Systems Innovation Hub in St Asaph, North Wales, you will work closely with colleagues across the business to support new commercial opportunities and technology transfer to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic systems for electro-optical products using FPGA, digital, and analogue electronic hardware and software.
  • Provide electronic systems engineering inputs from concept to manufacture and test.
  • Assist with requirements capture and specification definition, sensitivity analysis, and reliability analysis as required.
  • Interface with and manage output from sub-contractors.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to perform electronic design, analysis, and test.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to a high standard for all phases of the project.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering teams to support new opportunities and generate solutions for customers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree level in Electrical and/or Electronics engineering, 2:1 or better.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in digital and analogue signal processing, and video processing.
  • Analogue electronics design experience.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation that supports the product development process, including product specifications, manuals, and end-user instructions.
  • Positive, flexible approach to working with a 'can-do' attitude.
Desirable Skills:
  • Firmware development experience, C, (C++, C#, Python advantageous).
  • Demonstratable knowledge in digital and analogue video processing.
  • Experience of production test planning for electronics.
