About the Role

We are seeking a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Special Schools team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with skills in assessment and management of children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), as well as planning and delivery of training to other professionals.

As a Speech and Language Therapist in our service, you will deliver care to children, young people, and their families in special schools, providing assessments for children with complex communication needs and delivering interventions in line with the Balanced Model of working.

You will be working within our well-established, supportive, and dynamic Special Schools team, based at two special schools in Waltham Forest, and will support and line manage a small team of therapists in school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver care to children, young people, and their families in special schools.
  • Provide assessments for children with complex communication needs.
  • Deliver interventions in line with the Balanced Model of working.
  • Support and line manage a small team of therapists in school.

About NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment.
