Job Opportunity: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at St Matthew's Primary School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning, particularly in Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality education to students, focusing on interventions to raise attainment.
  • Work collaboratively with a range of professionals to prioritize student welfare, enjoyment of learning, and pursuit of high outcomes.
  • Take classes at short notice, mainly in KS2 and occasionally in KS1/EYFS, to ensure continuity of learning.
  • Attend INSET, internal meetings, and tailored professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Drive learning in 1-1 and small group-work, encouraging independence as students progress.
  • Work effectively with the wider school team, particularly the Key Stage Two team, to support teaching and learning across the phase.
  • Embody our core Christian values (CARES) to promote inclusivity, celebrate diversity, and appreciate individuality.

Requirements:

  • An interest in or prior experience of working with children who can benefit from additional support.
  • An interest in or prior experience of working with a range of professionals to prioritize student welfare and outcomes.
