Gastroenterology Consultant and Senior Lecturer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Gastroenterology to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a joint appointment with Edge Hill University, where you will also hold the position of Senior Lecturer.
Job SummaryThis is a new Consultant position within our Trust, and we are looking for a candidate who can bring their expertise in Gastroenterology to our team. As a Clinical Academic, you will have the opportunity to work in a well-established service and contribute to the development and implementation of the MBChB programme at Edge Hill University.
Main Responsibilities- Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders
- Contribute to the teaching and training of undergraduate medical students at Edge Hill University
- Participate in the development and implementation of the MBChB programme
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide a comprehensive clinical service to the population of the Wigan borough
Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a medium-sized acute and community foundation trust in the North West of England. We serve a local population of 326,000 and provide specialist services to a wider regional, national, and international catchment area.
Requirements- MB BS, MB ChB or equivalent qualification
- Entry on the Specialist Register for G(I)M and Gastroenterology or within 6 months of CCT
- MRCP (or equivalent)
- A HE Teaching Qualification and/or membership of the Advance HE (or Academy of Medical Educators) or commitment to achieve one within two years of appointment
