Job Title: Key Account Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Key Account Manager to join our team at World Fuel Services. As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of high-value commercial customers, driving revenue growth, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and develop a portfolio of high-value commercial customers, including Key Commercial, Industrial, and Agricultural customers.
  2. Drive revenue growth through the application of company business tools and guidelines, in line with individual and regional budgets.
  3. Organically grow the profitability of customer portfolios through price management, share of wallet, and loyalty through additional products and revenue streams.
  4. Upsell the full range of WFS Group of Companies products and services to increase revenue, including Energy procurement, Lubricants, tanks, and Fuelcards.
  5. Conduct face-to-face meetings with key customers to strengthen relationships and customer offerings.
  6. Provide timely designated reports and information as required by Regional Commercial Manager or General Manager.
  7. Understand and utilize all company systems and processes, assisting in offices as support if necessary.
  8. Achieve highest standards in customer excellence and adhere to customer complaints procedures wherever required.
  9. Work alongside internal functions to drive customer loyalty through price risk management proposals and sustainability offerings.
  10. Process customer orders, deal with queries, and exhibit the highest standards of customer service at all times.
  11. Work collaboratively with Regional Commercial Manager and Marketing Department to manage customer churn to a minimum standard through bespoke campaigns and portfolio action plans.
  12. Utilize video conferencing applications to conduct customer meetings and account reviews in the absence of face-to-face capability.
  13. Embrace a health and safety-focused culture at all times.
  14. Maintain a professional and reputable approach to all internal and external situations.
  15. Manage financial risk alongside credit functions to ensure customer accounts can trade in line with associated financial terms and limits.
  16. Undertake job function actions and processes in a consistent manner with colleagues in similar roles throughout the WFS business in the UK and NA, ensuring unification across the company.
  17. Maximize sales results by evaluating opportunities within vertical markets across the Agri, Industrial, and Farm Group sectors, for both rigid and artic delivery modes.
  18. Nurture the development of colleagues in Account Executive roles.
  19. Receive and integrate recently gained new business into account portfolios from the Business Development team, ensuring each transferred customer is contacted to explore cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Field-based sales and business development experience, ideally gained selling into a commercial, agricultural, or industrial customer base.
  • Key account management experience in a target-driven environment.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Successful track record in a competitive sales environment.
  • Experience in building relationships to secure customer loyalty and repeat custom.
  • Ability to work using your own initiative.
  • Background in fuel sales or specialty fuel sales desirable.
