About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Visual Effects Artist to join our Immersive team in London, working on exciting projects that blend VFX and Realtime workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing experience with FX tools like Houdini & Maya, and proficiency in Unreal Engine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with FX TDs and Technical Artists to deliver high-quality FX elements for projects.
  • Create particle, rigid-body, fluid, cloth, fur, and hair simulations or animations using commercial and proprietary FX tools.
  • Develop lighting and materials that integrate seamlessly with FX to produce stunning rendered images or runtime content.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure shots meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Design and create visual effects, images, elements, pipelines, tools, and techniques.
Requirements
  • Previous experience with Unreal Engine and Niagara.
  • An excellent knowledge of Houdini.
  • A thorough understanding of simulated and procedural FX techniques and technologies.
  • Experience producing effects for environments like smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, destruction, and explosions.
  • A good understanding of animation principles.
  • A familiarity with pipeline issues, particularly when working between multiple software packages.
  • Strong flipbook animation and vertex animation skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of other simulation packages like EmberGen.
  • Experience with other render packages or Realtime engines such as Unity or 1st party platforms.
  • Familiarity with UE Blueprints.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Vex, hscript, Python, and/or Mel.
