Job Title: ESOL Tutor

Teaching Personnel is seeking a qualified ESOL Tutor to join our team and work with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) in the East of England.

Job Type:

This is a temporary position, with the possibility of becoming permanent in the future.

Salary:

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:
  • Deliver engaging ESOL lessons to UASC learners in a supportive and inclusive environment
  • Assess students' language proficiency levels and provide feedback
  • Develop tailored lesson plans and teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of UASC learners
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a conducive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements
Required Qualifications:
  • CELTA or equivalent ESOL teaching qualification
  • Experience working with UASC or vulnerable young people
  • Strong understanding of ESOL teaching methodologies and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ESOL to diverse student populations

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of UK educational policies and safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of UASC learners
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PGCE in ESOL or related field
  • Experience working in a multicultural educational setting
