About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scrum Master to join our team at the UK Health Security Agency. As a Scrum Master, you will play a critical role in promoting and supporting Agile working practices across our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and coach Agile teams in Scrum frameworks, practices, rules, and values
  • Act as a servant leader to Agile teams, assisting them in delivering high-value products
  • Mentor teams in self-organization and cross-functionality
  • Remove impediments to analysis work, development, and testing
  • Establish a feedback loop to senior management to ensure teams and individuals are motivated and outputs are improved
  • Establish and maintain relevant metrics to report velocity and progress
  • Ensure Agile ceremonies are run effectively
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to provide regular updates on progress and address concerns or issues
  • Strong communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships, facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution
  • Advocate for Automation and our Target Operating Model
  • Support team needs and adapt your style/approach to meet their requirements

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • Proficient and confident in the use of JIRA and Confluence, with the ability to coach/train others
  • Experience in establishing new teams and supporting them to rapidly become high-performing
  • Scrum Master experience working with Scrum and Kanban frameworks
  • Ability to adapt your level of support to meet team needs
  • Planning skills to understand and act upon prioritization criteria for forward planning of Development Sprints
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate progress and blockers to senior stakeholders
  • Relationship management to build and maintain strong relationships to motivate and get the best out of Agile teams
  • Problem ownership to lead problems through to resolution
  • Highly motivated and resilient

Desirable Criteria

  • Scrum Master certification
  • Experience working across multiple Agile teams
  • Experience delivering with Technology teams
