Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Academic Liaison Officer to provide high-quality pastoral care and support to students in secondary schools based in Southampton. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team to manage student behaviour, act as a role model for students and staff, and demonstrate rigorous expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support young people aged 11-16 in their academic and personal development
  • Manage challenging behaviours and remain calm in those situations
  • Work in an 'on call'/internal isolation unit to ensure students' safety and wellbeing
  • Engage with students, build rapport, and implement behaviour management strategies
  • Contribute to school-wide knowledge and skills in behaviour management

Requirements
  • Previous experience working with KS3 and KS4 students
  • A positive attitude and commitment to ensuring students' safety and wellbeing throughout the school day
  • Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (free courses available)
