Kings College Hospital is a leading healthcare provider seeking an experienced Practitioner Psychologist to join its multidisciplinary Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of psychological assessment and clinical psychometrics, as well as experience working with patients experiencing physical health problems. They will be expected to provide specialist psychological assessment, treatment, and monitoring of outcomes, focusing on identifying and treating psychological issues that negatively impact treatment adherence and overall well-being.

This role offers ample opportunities for professional growth and development, including service evaluation, audit, research, teaching, and policy development. The successful candidate will also contribute to the delivery of a specialist applied psychology service, providing clinical consultation and supervision to other members of the Adult CF multidisciplinary team.

Main Duties
  • To provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment services for patients with cystic fibrosis, focusing on complex psychological needs
  • To develop and implement individualized treatment plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • To conduct clinical consultations and provide supervision to team members, promoting high-quality patient care and best practices
  • To participate in service evaluation, audit, research, teaching, and policy development initiatives, contributing to the advancement of cystic fibrosis care and management
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Doctorate-level qualification in Applied Psychology or a related field
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Proven experience working with patients experiencing physical health problems, including cystic fibrosis
  • Advanced knowledge of psychological assessment and clinical psychometrics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
Salary and Benefits
