About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon to join our team in Carlisle and Whitehaven. As a key member of our orthopaedic surgery department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality trauma and orthopaedic services to our patients.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to clinical governance, including developing and maintaining effective systems and practices to ensure clinical audit. You will also attend and contribute to our Trust's Clinical Governance Programmes, ensuring that staff within your area of responsibility are aware of and implement our Risk Management Strategy. Additionally, you will participate in our Clinical Incident Reporting System and develop a programme of personal continuing medical education and professional development in accordance with the recommendations of the relevant Royal Colleges.

Our Trust will expect and support the post holder to maintain professional expertise through attending meetings and courses. During the early part of their career, the appointee will be supported by a named mentor (senior consultant). An interest in research and teaching is expected, with participation in projects and courses to enhance the standing role of the department within the Trust.

As an employee of North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, you can expect a competitive salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
