London, Greater London, United Kingdom DRINKAWARE TRUST Full time
About the role

DRINKAWARE TRUST is seeking a skilled Impact Evaluation Manager to join our team. As an Impact Evaluation Manager, you will play a critical role in assessing the impact of our digital products, campaigns, research, public engagement, and partnerships.

Key responsibilities
  • Commission, conduct, and manage a diverse portfolio of impact evaluations, both short-term and longitudinal, for various interventions, including digital products, campaigns, research, and policy engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to co-produce and co-manage monitoring and evaluation work, ensuring the selection of appropriate methods and approaches.
  • Develop and present high-quality monitoring, evaluation, and learning outputs, including tender documents, literature reviews, evaluations, and meta-evaluations, presentations, blogs, and other materials.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, prioritizing and planning projects to maximize their impact, and fostering deep relationships through a test-and-learn approach.
  • Support the development of internal impact champions across the organization, ensuring consistent use of our theory of change, data, and insights, and promoting a dynamic culture of learning.
  • Closely work with internal data owners to ensure the effectiveness and proper implementation of our monitoring and evaluation systems, providing high-quality data for evaluation projects, the impact monitoring framework, and critical paths that deliver our strategy.
  • Create and deliver an effective timetable and program of organizational learning, based on reviewing our outcome and impact indicators and evaluation findings.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Impact to identify and address impact and evaluation gaps.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least four to five years of experience in impact, research, and evaluation roles within government, charities, academia, and other sectors. They will have a strong track record of designing evaluation frameworks, tendering and managing consultants and experts, and conducting research or evaluation projects that assess the impact of various interventions. The candidate will also have experience in managing relationships and projects with senior staff, external partners, and experts, and embedding evaluation and learning in an organization, including building capacity among colleagues with little or no relevant impact experience. Additionally, they will have a proven record of effective evaluation dissemination for publication, particularly in engaging partners and funders to deepen relationships through testing and learning.

Key skills and abilities
  • Hands-on knowledge of mixed methodologies, including randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, ethnography, surveys, focus groups, interviews, social web analysis, and learning from stretch and failure.
  • A thorough understanding of research ethics, consent processes, and GDPR/data protection.
  • Strong project management, relationship, and facilitation skills, with the ability to drive complex projects forward.
  • Strong skills in synthesizing complex quantitative and qualitative findings, aided by software such as NVIVO or similar, and sharing these in clear, succinct, and convincing ways.
  • A high level of data literacy with strong numerical skills.
  • The ability to work independently using creative problem-solving and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A strong commitment to DRINKAWARE TRUST's Values and to reducing alcohol-related harm.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with confidence in working with internal and external stakeholders.
