We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Old Age Community Team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and management of dementia patients in the community and functional older adults in the catchment area.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and be the Responsible Clinician for all patients open to the community team.
- Review new patients in a timely manner and oversee the clinical management of patients.
- Be available for timely meetings, MDT, and facilitate discharge planning.
- Carry out duties as Responsible Clinician, including Mental Health Act assessments, preparation of tribunal reports, and giving oral evidence at managers hearings and mental health review tribunals for patients under CTO.
- Be actively involved in supporting staff development and in effecting continual service improvement.
- Provide clinical supervision to trainees and supervise specialty doctors.
- Clinical Audit: Participate in audit to ensure the continuous improvement of the service.
We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist who meets the following criteria:
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Registration with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register OR within six months.
- Meets Royal College of Psychiatrists criteria for appointment to the post of Consultant.
- Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician Status.
