Job Title: Children's Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:
Cornwall Council is seeking a skilled Children's Occupational Therapist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and in social care. They will work closely with the Sensory Team, Education, Housing, and the NHS to ensure that assessments and recommendations are robust and meet the needs of residents.

Main Duties:
Provision of hoists/slings and risk assessments addressing specific needs of the child in their home environment.
Assessment of need for provision of door widening/grab rails/ramps and safety measures
Assessment of potential need for adaptations through the national Disabled Facility Grant. Housing needs assessments: Assessments to support a social housing application for a property, identifying specific access needs of a child to be considered when being rehoused.
Attending child in need and safeguarding meetings of allocated children, and close working with Social Workers and the MDT.

Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Children's Occupational Therapist in the community.
Experienced Adult Social Care OT required with minimum of 2 years' experience.
Community OT post, with experience in assisting and moving, major and minor adaptations.
Community based with provision of equipment to support home working.
Experienced OT with experience in assessing and providing major adaptions such as ramps and stairlifts and manual handling equipment.
Manual handling experience.
Enhanced DBS/CRB (can be obtained for you).
