We are currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Quantity Surveyor (QS) or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS) to join our dynamic team in the North West region. This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone with some civil engineering experience, preferably in residential projects, who is eager to develop their skills in quantity surveying.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong willingness to learn and develop their skills in quantity surveying, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets for residential construction projects.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, assess site conditions, and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Support contract management processes, including preparing and negotiating tender documents, contracts, and variations.
  • Prepare and submit regular financial reports reflecting project status, forecasting, and any necessary financial adjustments.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout project lifecycles.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential for AQS candidates with strong experience.
  • For QS Role: Minimum of 2 years of experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the residential or civil sectors.
  • For AQS Role: Some experience in a similar role or a strong desire to learn, with experience in civil engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Excel, CostX, or equivalent QS tools) and familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • High level of accuracy in work and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to mitigate risks and resolve issues proactively.
