Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Community Health Nurse to join our team as a Deputy District Nurse. This is a permanent position based in Hillingdon, with a rotational weekend working arrangement.

About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills and take on delegated responsibilities for the assessment, management, and evaluation of evidence-based nursing care to patients in various community settings. As a pro-active Deputy Team Manager, you will lead and motivate a team of community staff nurses and Health Care Assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Clinical Judgement and Risk Assessments: Utilize your clinical expertise and risk assessments to ensure the safety of patients using our services.
  2. Safeguarding: Recognize and respond to potential abuse risks, safeguarding adults or children while acknowledging your own limitations and escalating concerns when necessary.
  3. Quality Improvement: Reflect on everyday practice to identify areas for improvement in safety or quality, implementing changes accordingly.
  4. Mandatory Training: Maintain compliance with mandatory training requirements.
Clinical Outcomes

As a Band 6 nurse, you will contribute to the provision of safe and reliable services by:

  1. Being a confident, autonomous practitioner taking responsibility for patient care while overseeing the work of others.
  2. Providing skilled, evidence-based nursing care adhering to policies and procedures.
  3. Working with patients and families across all stages of care planning, assessing risks and needs.
  4. Acting as patient advocates within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective care delivery.
  5. Developing clinical leadership skills, challenging poor behavior, and creating a positive culture.
  6. Responding to complaints or concerns effectively and quickly in line with Trust policy.

Salary and Location

The estimated salary for this role is £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. The location is Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust's Hillingdon district nursing teams.
