Logistics Operations Specialist

At Silver Arrow Recruitment, we are proud to present a rare opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to join a reputable and innovative company in the Midlands area.
Our client has developed a Multimodal transport operation that incorporates all transport requirements throughout the business to support their expanding demands.
The role will serve as a vital support function for our internal departments and collaborate with the Intermodal Manager to manage transport booking requirements. This dynamic position involves interfacing with various departments, working directly with suppliers, and shipping lines as we continue to strengthen our transport operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Haulage allocation and day-to-day management as required.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring all haulage requirements are met by approved suppliers.
- Adapting to changing needs and offering alternative solutions when necessary.
- Striking a balance between cost and service requirements at all times.
- Maintaining strong relationships with key accounts and developing strategies to enhance flow requirements.
- Monitoring supplier KPIs and assisting management in evaluating performance.
- Fostering relationships with suppliers and shipping line representatives.
- Collaborating on transport system development and enhancing internal systems to support operations.
- Managing UK haulage operations, including FCL/LCL and warehousing activities.
- Coordinating intermodal and multiple ports operations.
- Demonstrating excellent geographic and container inventory knowledge.
- Showcasing exceptional planning, attention to detail, communication, and influencing skills.
- Utilizing computer operating systems (Microsoft Windows) and office applications (Microsoft Office), preferably Cargowise.
- Demonstrating proactive behavior, teamwork, time management, and organisational skills.
- Exhibiting enthusiasm, flexibility, and self-motivation.
