Job Title: Industrial Placement Submarines Systems Engineer

Location: Barrow (Cumbria)

Start Date: June 2025

Salary: £23,100

About the Role

As a Systems Engineering Undergraduate, you will play a key role in designing, building, testing, and commissioning the largest and most advanced submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy.

You will work alongside our Astute Class and Dreadnought Class Submarines to provide a powerful and secure deterrent for the United Kingdom 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the capture, definition, analysis, and management of requirements.
  • Support system design, analysis, testing, optimization, and integration activities.
  • Build virtual models of systems and subsystems.
  • Use tools and software to support activities at different stages of a system's life cycle.
  • Support modeling and simulation activities.
  • Support system validation and verification activities.
Requirements

As a minimum requirement, you will need to be on track to obtain a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Maths, or other STEM degree.
