Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Roadside Technology Engineer to join our team in the Midlands region. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise in identifying and evaluating technology asset specific needs, developing early solutions, and ensuring adherence to defined asset policies and standards.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineer to lead the development of innovative solutions for improvements and/or renewals of national highways assets. You will be responsible for compiling relevant documents, evidence, and options for value management, taking into account new techniques, materials, buildability, and costs.

The successful candidate will also be required to assist with developing the regions asset-led forward programme, identify and prepare briefs for survey works, and manage delivery of these works. Additionally, you will provide technical support to project managers by assisting with materials approvals, vetting of contractors' compliance, inspection support on site, and reviewing health and safety files.

Requirements
  • Possess a relevant tertiary qualification in engineering/science-related subject or substantial experience in a related/closely related field.
  • Understand Asset Management Principles and tools for decision making.
  • Knowledge of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), National Highways Technology Assets, NRTS Infrastructure, IoT, Telco, and IP technologies.
  • Experience in highway infrastructure design and in relevant construction and delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges standards and their application on the highways network.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. This role can be based in Birmingham or Nottingham, with a balance of remote and office-based work. The successful candidate will also have opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.
