About the Opportunity

This is a unique chance for an experienced electrical design engineer to take on a challenging role as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at RED Engineering Design in Bicester. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on various engineering project services, develop client-facing skills, and lead medium-sized projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of medium-sized projects with a high level of technical expertise.
  • Play a key role in the development, design, and coordination of engineering project services for electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities, and other building services.
  • Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes.
  • Survey, test, and report on existing electrical installations.
  • Specify activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Makes day-to-day decisions on project progress and direct liaison with clients.
  • Represents the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
  • Carries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards.
  • Responsible for the technical content and accuracy of Trainee, Graduate, and Engineer training.
  • Validation and checking of designs and specifications.
Essential Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • BEng, MSc, and sufficient experience.
  • MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND + appropriate experience or equivalent.
  • Working towards Chartered Eng status.
  • Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types.
  • Solid knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (word, excel, etc.).
  • Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
  • Good understanding of BS standards.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Managerial Skills.
  • Background in consulting or construction preferred.
  • Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
