About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and empowering Residential Childcare Support Workers to provide care and support for children and young people who are unable to live with their families. Our children and young people have been subject to adverse childhood experiences and trauma, and we need people who have a good understanding of the difficulties and challenges that children may face and have the confidence and ability to support them to recover, grow and flourish.

About the Service

Cushathill home is a large detached 4-bedroom house situated in large grounds in a rural location. The service provides four medium to long-term placements for young people. Our staff will be appropriately qualified and registered in accordance with SSSC regulations, or working towards this. A regular programme of training, supervision and appraisal will be maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care and support for children and young people who are unable to live with their families
  • Support children and young people to recover, grow and flourish
  • Work with children and young people to develop their skills and abilities
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people
Requirements
  • A sound understanding of the developmental needs and milestones for children and young people
  • Ability to communicate, engage and form positive relationships with children and young people, parents, carers and other professionals
  • Ability to produce clear and concise written reports and records to a good standard
  • A valid manual driving licence
