Section Engineer Job Description

Our client, a leading Civil Engineering Main Contractor, is seeking a highly skilled Section Engineer to join their team on a prestigious £2bn, 10-year infrastructure project supporting the Royal Navy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and drive the training and development of the Site Engineering team.
  • Undertake project-based management of a team of engineers on various projects.
  • Provide information and coaching to subordinates in the use of setting out techniques.
  • Translate works information into setting out on site.
  • Have an understanding of robotic surveying equipment.
  • Support and ensure that works are constructed in accordance with contract drawings, specification, and Project Execution Plan.
  • Raise and track technical queries.
  • Produce method statements and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and raise temporary works briefs.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a HNC/Degree or equivalent, and hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proven people and project management skills with the ability to liaise in a professional manner with clients, client representatives, and the general public.
  • Team leader with organisational skills.
  • Experience working on civil engineering projects and managing a team.
  • Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation.
