This role summary outlines the key responsibilities of the position:

  • Drafting and negotiating various trading agreements, including ISDA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA and Confirmations.
  • Providing direct advice to the desk on queries and disputes arising from OTC transactions.
  • Reviewing contractual rights in day-to-day operations and stress situations.
  • Reviewing viability of new product types and structures, along with associated legal issues.
  • Reviewing jurisdictional requirements for cross-border activity.
  • Liaising with stakeholders and clients, both domestically and internationally.
  • Assisting the Legal department with other urgent matters as needed.

Requirements:

  • A qualified lawyer with post-qualification experience, ideally in-house.
  • A strong understanding of financial markets and products.
  • Derivatives experience within any product group is essential, with structured products being a plus.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Intellectually curious and keen to learn about new products and legal structures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
